Why Marco's Exists

Restoran Marco's was created with a simple idea: to bring thoughtful cooking, genuine hospitality, and an elevated dining experience to Požarevac. Every detail—from the atmosphere to the food—is designed to make every visit memorable.

Founded by Chef Marko Mihajlović, Marco's combines years of international culinary experience with a passion for welcoming guests into a space where exceptional food and warm service go hand in hand. Whether you're joining us for a relaxed lunch, dinner with friends, or a special celebration, every visit is designed to feel personal, welcoming, and worth remembering.

The Making of Marco's

Before opening Restoran Marco's, Chef Marko Mihajlović spent more than a decade refining his craft in some of the world's most respected kitchens. His journey took him from the Grand Hyatt Doha and Hyatt Regency Belgrade to Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, before serving as Executive Chef aboard a 62-metre luxury superyacht.

Each destination offered something new to learn—not only about cooking, but about hospitality, precision, and the small details that transform a meal into a memorable experience.

His dedication to the profession has also earned international recognition, including a feature in World Master Chefs Magazine, where he shares the experiences and philosophy that continue to shape his approach to modern cuisine.

When Marko returned to Požarevac in 2022, he wasn't looking to recreate the places he had worked. He came home with a simple vision: to build the kind of restaurant he had always wanted his hometown to have.

Today, Marco's reflects that journey—bringing together international experience, genuine hospitality, and a deep appreciation for the community it proudly serves. Since opening, the restaurant has been featured by leading hospitality publication Cafe Bar & Restoran, which highlighted both its unique concept and its contribution to the evolving dining scene in Eastern Serbia.
